We will be back. This place is perfect and well located. Tons of roads and trails in the area to mountain bike on. A SUP paddle on the bays of Flaming Gorge Reservoir is in our future, but not on this trip as it was 34F with 25mph winds.
One complaint. They let it snow on us. Can you believe that?!? Snow? In the mountains? In April? Who would subject their guests to that? I had to actually put on shoes!!! Oh the brutality of roughing it.
Rolling through in late April 2017 we needed to dump and recharge the rig. All the National Forest campgrounds are closed this time of year and with storms all around, off-road camping with a 25' trailer can get exciting during mud season. We left our tire chains at home anyway.
This is a true hidden gem! Class A 34' motor home. Very spacious lots. Full hookup's. nicest park we've stayed at to date! Campground staff are fantastic. A MUST STAY if your planning a trip to Flaming River Gorge area.
Super-nice people! They were full when we arrived late afternoon on a Saturday. But offered to let us park our small RV in the parking lot and use the showers for a very small fee - then moved their trucks so we could park level in their drive, plug in to a nearby outlet for some 110v, and use their picnic table, chairs, and patio! This is in a beautiful spot, high enough to be cool at night even in July. Lots of families with kids, plenty of playground stuff - just delightful. Ice and firewood, too - and Wifi. I want to come back to this area just so we can stay here again.
Why 5 Stars? Clean. Wicked clean. This includes the grounds, bathrooms and showers. Manager and his wife were friendly, helpful and obviously work hard to make this place an outstanding choice.
Plenty of space between spots with Aspen and Pine trees planted in such a way that you get added pricacy. (Of course we arrived well before the Aspen leaves show up...)
It is perfectly situated to take full advantage of the Flaming Gorge offerings. The manager and staff are great, helpful & friendly. Fun watching the deer in the horse pasture (which is behind our site) every evening. Clean free hot showers & very reasonable charge for laundry.
This is an excellent RV campground. Spacious sites, full hookups, laundry and nicest bathrooms I have found anywhere. Very happy we stayed here. Bike, hike trails all over and fishing, water sports a couple miles down the road at Flaming Gorge Rec Area. Did I mention the friendly staff.
